This survey is for all BC parents, caregivers, and guardians of children or youth aged 0 to 18 who have support needs. We want to hear from parents (biological, foster and adoptive) and family caregivers whether they are receiving support or not. This survey will take 10-20 minutes to complete, depending on how much detail you can provide. We would like feedback on your family’s experience with Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN) services, including suggestions for improvement. If you look after more than one child or youth who uses CYSN services, please fill out the survey separately for each child or youth. The results from this survey, along with discussions with the CYSN community and First Nations Rights and Titleholders, will shape how CYSN services are provided across the province in the future.
This confidential survey is being managed by MNP and the Social Planning and Research Council of BC (SPARC BC) on behalf of the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). MCFD is trying a new approach to provide children and youth with support needs (click on link for more information) with services through:
We are currently evaluating these piloted services in these four BC communities and their regions:
We want to understand what worked and what did not work in the changes made to the CYSN services in these communities. We know that many organizations recently shared surveys on this topic. You may have answered similar questions before. This survey is looking for your personal experience and will be open until December 13, 2024. If you need translation services, please contact us at CYSNServicesEngagement@mnp.ca. We value your time and feedback! Please enter the MNP and SPARC BC draw at the end of the survey by entering your email. Your contact information will not be connected to your survey answers. You have a chance of winning one of forty $25 VISA or MasterCard gift cards.
