This questionnaire will help Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) assess how the Inshore Regulations are working and collect views on where improvements may be needed. It seeks input from a wide range of industry participants, including licence holders, crew members, associations, service providers, lenders, and others.
The Inshore Regulations are rules about who can hold a licence, who must do the fishing, and who controls fishing decisions. They were made to ensure licence holders own, operate, and control their enterprises, prevent unauthorized control by others, support independent owner operators, and keep benefits in local communities.
Please answer based on your own experience and perspective. If you are not a licence holder, respond as best you can. You do not need to answer every question, but more input will help DFO better understand your views.
