AIAI Health/Social Advisory Board

Risk of Homelessness Survey

Introduction

The Association of Iroquois & Allied Indians (AIAI) and its member Nations invite registered members living on or off-reserve to participate in this survey which looks at housing experiences and what it means to be at risk of losing your home.

The goal is to learn from lived experiences in order to help advocate for better services and supports. Being at risk of becoming unhoused means you could lose your housing soon because rent is too high, your home is unsafe or overcrowded, or it needs major repairs. It can also mean you have recently been in a treatment centre or other institution for some time and do not have safe or stable housing to return to upon release. For many First Nations people, being unhoused also means losing connection to land, family, culture, and identity — not just a physical place to live.

This survey is for registered band members only.

The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. You or a family member/caregiver can complete the survey on your behalf.

This survey is voluntary, anonymous, and confidential.

We ask that you complete this survey by Friday, January 31, 2026.
